COVID-19 Can’t Stop You From Networking!!

This pandemic is one of a kind and has truly put the whole world at a stand still. Workforces in some states are being reduced by 50%, mandatory work from home and some people unfortunately even laid off. I have a networking philosophy/principles called "Synergy Me", where I believe that ALL networking and relationship connections are possible but the catalyst must begin with YOU. But with all of that, there is still a silver lining when it comes to networking and I am going to share a few of my personal tips with you:
Genuinely check in. We are all in the same boat right now and everyone is handling it differently. Take this time to send a genuine check in text, email, LinkedIN, Facebook message someone you have been trying to reach for a long time. Our daily office routines sometimes get in the way of being able to network. It goes a long way and would mean a lot to know that someone is genuinely concerned and wants to see how you are doing.
Schedule 15-30 Virtual Minutes. With all of this going on we now have some more free time on our hands. Make it a point to try to get a conference phone or video call with a mentor, a HR recruiter or an senior level executive with an organization that you hope to build a relationship with while everyone’s time is more accessible. We have so many tools, FaceTime, Google Hangout, Zoom just to name a few that we can use.
See how you can help others. The most important part about networking is not what you can Get but what you can GIVE. During this time of being still, I have been able to genuinely help others, connect to job opportunities, to other people, and resources because I have more flexible time. In turn, I’m asked what can be done to help me. This will prove valuable when I have an ask of my own, but in the meantime you should do what you can to be a help to others.
These are just a few of my #SynergyMe networking tips. Please feel free to share this post and I hope it is a help to you and others. If you have any more questions about networking and brand development please feel free to email me at info@brandonvray.com or via LinkedIn.
Be safe and have a great day.
Sincerely,
